New Barrier Strips Handle Higher Current Applications
HARRISBURG, PA - September 12, 2003 -- Tyco Electronics, a business segment of Tyco International Ltd., and manufacturer of BUCHANAN brand terminal blocks, recently introduced a family of double-row, dual-barrier strips. The new family includes four new products based on 9.5, 11.0, 11.1 and 14.3 mm centerlines. This product is for wire-to-wire applications where it is necessary for end-users to access and make changes to wiring without disturbing the electrical circuit. The product has applications in industrial controls, test equipment, HVAC, power supplies and telecom equipment.
The 9.5 mm centerline version is rated at 20A/300 VAC, accepts 12-22 AWG wire and is available in 2 through 30 positions. The 11.0 and 11.1 mm products are rated at 25A/300 VAC, accept 14-22 AWG wire and are available in 2 through 26 positions. And lastly, the 14.3 mm product is rated for 30A/300 VAC, accepts 10-22 AWG wire and is available in 2 through 18 positions.
Double-row, dual-barrier strips are available with binding head screws or wire clamps to secure the wire. Additional features include a UL 94V-0 thermoplastic housing, tin plated brass terminals and nickel-plated steel screws. Accessory items like quick connect tabs and jumpers are available.
Pricing for a 3 position, .437" product with binding screws at the 1000 piece quantity level is $0.65 per piece. Delivery is typically 8 weeks.
