New Bosch Barrel Grip Jig Saw Meets User's Preferences

Precision control, One-Touch® blade change and 6.4 Amp power

Mount Prospect, Ill., September 2, 2004 -Today, Bosch Power Tools and Accessories, a division of the Robert Bosch Tool Corporation, introduced the new 1591EVSK Barrel Grip Jig Saw with precision control, a One-Touch® blade change system, and tool less foot bevel. After inventing the tool and category almost 60 years ago, Bosch is still the world's leading jig saw producer all other competitors aspire to imitate.

The 1591EVS jig saw shares many of the same features as the incredibly popular 1590EVS Top-handle Jig Saw introduced earlier this year. Now, no matter whether a user prefers barrel grip or top-handle, Bosch offers a solution to meet their needs.

Engineered with accuracy and power at the forefront, serious tool users will appreciate the 1591EVS's Precision Control Blade System, specially designed to eliminate blade wander. The system, complements the Bosch patented T-shank three-point blade holding system by utilizing a clamp to grasp the blade lower for added stability. Where blades wandered during turns in thick pieces of wood in the past, precision control protects the cut integrity and allows the saw to make much straighter cut lines and cross-sections. With precision control, the 1591EVS and 1590EVS jig saws are the most precise on the market.

Users demand quicker and easier blade changes. Gone are the days of extra tools and screws. The 1591EVS now features the same innovative One-Touch blade change system found on the latest Bosch series jig saws. The simplest on the market, it only requires a one-handed blade insertion until the holder clicks and a long-lasting lever blade-ejection switch that merely requires the pressure of a single thumb to operate. Hot and broken blades are no longer an issue.

The 1591EVS also features a tool-less foot bevel that adjusts up to 45-degrees. While other jig saws require a wrench to adjust, this saw utilizes a built-in lever and tension dial to lock and restrain the foot into place. Bevel changes are consistently quick, easy and accurate.

Additional features on the 1591EVS include constant response circuitry for smoother starts and added power in situations, like cutting in harder materials that would normally cause other jig saws to stall. At six pounds and 6.4 amps, the latest Bosch jigsaw is lightweight and powerful. The variable speed dial allows for variations in the speed of cut between 500 and 2,800 SPM and an engineered four-stage orbital action adjusts the blade motion to adapt to the work piece and project. The 1591EVS also comes with on/off blower that can be connected to a vacuum.

The new 1591EVSK comes standard with the following equipment: one T144DP Blade, T123X and T244D Blade, both for use in wood; a zero clearance insert; non-marring footplate and carrying case.
