New 4 Axis CNC Gang Tool Bar Machine with Sub Spindle from Intertech Worldwide


East Hampton, CT May 3, 2004...INTERTECH WORLDWIDE CORPORATION announces the new 4 axis CNC 1 5/8" bar machining center with sub-spindle that utilizes a unique three-sided tool platen featuring 9 live tools (3 on each side), 6 stationary drill holders, 8 turning holders plus a separate cutoff tool holder for complete parts production at one location. A third axis combined with gang tooling allows the model 42-9 LSS to function as a productive alternative to standard 2 axis gang tool lathes or lathes with turrets.

The twenty four (24) tools in a small area, minimizing the travel distance from tool to tool for faster parts production while the addition of the "Y" axis allows for fast and easy tool centerline adjustment through simple tool offsets. The main spindle has 1-5/8" collet capacity and sub-spindle has 1 3/16" collet capacity. In addition, the main spindle can be fitted with a 6" chuck and the sub-spindle with a 4" chuck. Both the main spindle and sub-spindle are servo driven and can be programmed for profile synchronization. Both spindles located to 0.1 degrees (3600 points). The machine design utilizes a 10/15 hp Servo main spindle drive, a 2.6/3.5 hp Servo sub-spindle drive and Mitsubishi Servo drives for all axis movements. The control is an Advanced High Performance Control with a 10-1/2" flat color monitor capable of 6-axis simultaneous interpolation. Control has 96 tool registers for tool assignments and tool offsets in all axis. Programs are compatible with Fanuc and other programs using standard "G" codes and "M" functions. Program exchange through a 3.5" floppy or using a RS232 connection. Up to 128 programs can be stored in the control regardless of length. Parts catcher and takeaway conveyor, chip conveyor and protected light are standard
