Bank of New Zealand Deploys Good Technology(TM) to Enable Secure Access on Mobile Devices

Good for Enterprise™ Enables Secure Collaboration and Productivity Gains on Smartphones and Tablets

SYDNEY- Good Technology™, the leader in secure enterprise mobility, today announced that Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) has deployed Good for Enterprise™ (GFE), the company's enterprise mobility management solution, and the Good Dynamics® platform. GFE will be used to enable employees to securely access a range of collaboration and productivity applications including email, calendar, contacts, intranet, SharePoint access and document viewing and editing.

"Managing risk was a key driver for implementing Good for Enterprise, while also providing secure mobile productivity capability," commented Jamie O'Donnell, Manager Telecommunication Services at Bank of New Zealand. "As smartphones and apps become more evolved and enabled, the potential increases for our staff to unwittingly leak corporate information that we had no auditable visibility of."

Bank of New Zealand's fleet of 1,000 smartphones and tablets comprises a mixture of BYOD and company supplied devices. The bank has developed its own distinct application suites from the library of applications for smartphones and tablets in the Good Dynamics® Marketplace including: Good Share™ for accessing shared drives, GoodReader for Good and iAnnotate for Good for viewing and editing PDF files and Smart Office for Good for viewing and editing Microsoft Office documents.

Jamie O'Donnell added, "We wanted our application suite to be reflective of the way staff are using mobile devices and their desire to be effective while out and about. Smartphones tend to be more for content viewing, communication and collaboration, whereas tablets are increasingly being used as productivity tools, including content creation and editing."

Bank of New Zealand was founded in 1861, employs over 5,000 people in New Zealand, and is a subsidiary of the National Australia Bank Group of companies. Through its 180 retail stores, the bank offers a broad portfolio of banking products for personal, business, institutional and private banking customers.

"We are delighted to have been chosen as the technology of choice for Bank of New Zealand, an organization that values excellence in secure enterprise mobility," said Andrew Jacques, General Manager, International at Good Technology. "Organizations recognize that their employees are introducing a wider range of devices and platforms into the workplace and are looking for a better way to collaborate on those devices, as well as stronger data security, and an array of other mobile efficiency solutions to drive a positive impact across the business."
