Balver Zinn/Cobar's SN100C Solder Wire Used in the IPC Midwest Hand Solder Competition

The Balver Zinn Group announces that Cobar Solder Products Inc.'s SN100C Wire Solder and Cobrush flux applicator were featured during the annual Hand Solder Competition at the recently held IPC Midwest exhibition in Schaumburg, IL.

Lance Larrabee, General Manager of Cobar Solder Products Inc., said, "Balver Zinn/Cobar is pleased to support the IPC Midwest Hand Solder Competition with solder that performs consistently, provides shinier joints, flows better and is easier to inspect than most solder currently available in the market."

Over two days, 16 contestants competed to build a functional electronics assembly within a 30-minute time limit. Assemblies were judged on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610E Class 3 criteria, the speed at which assembly was produced and overall electrical functionality of assembly. First place went to Brian Wade of CAMtek, second place was awarded to Alyssia Demetropoulos of Pro-Active Engineering and Sue Fischer of Plexus won third place.

Cobar Solder Products Inc. is a regular sponsor and contributor to IPC's Hand Solder Competitions held annually at IPC Midwest and APEX.
