Advance SmartMate Ballast Available For Operation Of New 57-Watt Compact Fluorescent Lamps

Advance Transformer Company, Rosemont, Illinois, has announced that its SmartMate(TM) ICF-2S42-M2 ballast will operate the newly introduced 57-watt Triple Compact Fluorescent Lamps (NEMA lamp designation CFTR57W/GX2). The ballast will operate one 57-watt lamp unit. The new lamps, which are being made available by several major lamp manufacturers, feature amalgam technology and are designed to provide approximately 4,300 initial lumens at 25 deg C, equivalent in light output to two 150-watt incandescent lamps.

The Advance SmartMate ICF-2S42-M2 is the newest entry in the SmartMate line. It is also rated to operate two 26-watt Quad or Triple lamps, two 32-watt Triple lamps, two 42-watt Triple lamps, two 28-watt 2D lamps, or two 38-want 2D lamps. The ballast will also operate one 22-watt and one 40-watt Circline lamp, or two 40-watt Long Twin Tube lamps. The ballast is available with either length mounting feet or bottom-mount PEM studs; a choice of single-entry or dual-entry connectors is also offered.

Introduced in 2000, the Advance SmartMate line currently includes four basic models, each of which operates a variety of different lamps, providing coverage of the most common Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) applications. Since its introduction, the line's versatility and features have made it a leading CFL ballast choice in both OEM and replacement markets. SmartMate features include a color-coded dual-entry connector option, permitting push-in lead connection to either the side or bottom of the ballast. SmartMate versatility is further enhanced by Advance's IntelliVolt(TM) universal voltage feature, which allows
operation on systems ranging from 120 to 277 volts, 50/60 Hz. These features can provide dramatic reductions in SKU inventory requirements, while helping eliminate wiring errors
during installation.

Other SmartMate features include enclosure designs optimized for superior thermal performance, a lamp end-of-life detection safety feature, a programmed start design for optimal lamp life, Total Harmonic Distortion under 10%, 0° F cold starting (320 F for the 57-watt Triple CFL), and warranty periods up to five years.

Advance Transformer Company, a leading ballast manufacturer based in Rosemont, Illinois, manufactures a full line of magnetic fluorescent, HID, electronic fluorescent and electronic HID lamp ballasts.
