Original Press Release:

Ball Valves Designed for Pneumatically or Electrically Powered Actuators

Summary: Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. line of ball valves is designed to universally accept air or electric actuators, limit stops and limit switches without the need for modification or special adaptors. The valves are built in a variety of thermoplastics and actuators feature water and dust-tight enclosures to withstand airborne corrosion.

Cedar Grove, New Jersey: Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc., announces the availability of its True Blue Series of ball valves for corrosive and ultra-purity applications. The unique design permits the same valve to be used for both manual and actuated service, without the need for special adapters or replacement.

The water and dust-tight actuators are available either electrically or pneumatically powered. The electric actuators feature a thermally protected motor and are designed to meet NEMA 4X. The pneumatic actuators are available in a double acting or automatic "fail safe" configuration. The enclosures protect the actuator components from airborne corrosion, and include manual override for protection during a power failure.

Both actuators are constructed of rugged non-corrosive thermoplastics for strength and durability. They also feature flow position indicators, as well as color coded motor running lights on the electric model. A number of accessories, including limit stops and limit switches, are available as options.

Unique features of the Ball Valve include dual-shaft seals to eliminate leakage, steel-rod-reinforced shaft to eliminate breakage and Teflon® seats backed up with precompressed O-rings to eliminate wear.

Available in pipe sizes 1/2" to 2", the valves are offered 2-way and 3-way in a variety of thermoplastics. For more information, request Catalog BV or contact:
