Ball Valve provides fugitive emission control.

Press Release Summary:

Tufline class 150 and 300 one-piece ball valve is available in standard port sizes from 3/4 to 4 in. Designed for processing industries, its spherical S2 seal allows compensation for any minor stem movement caused by side loading. Also available in 2-piece flanged and 3-piece screwed, socket-welded and butt-welded end models, ball valve has interchangeable internal parts. It offers dual body gaskets, PTFE chemically inert seal, and FT graphite seal.

Xomox Introduces New Process Ball Valve With One-Piece Body; Features Patented Stem Seal For Fugitive Emission Control

CINCINNATI, April 24 - Xomox, a 45-year-old manufacturer of a wide variety of quarter-turn valves for process applications, offers a new one-piece body Tufline-brand ball valve with a patented stem seal for emission control.

The Class 150 and 300 one-piece body valve is available in standard port sizes ranging from 3/4 to 4 inches.

"This one-piece body ball valve is specifically designed for processing industries," says ball valve product manager Bob Neal. "And it provides end-users with superior stem-sealing capability. It joins our other lines of Tufline valves - butterfly, check, sleeved plug, fluorocarbon lined, and severe service in rounding out our product offering to the processing industries.

"The spherical S2 seal allows the Tufline process ball valve to compensate for any minor stem movement caused by side loading; it works like a ball joint to maintain the integrity of the stem seal even with movements of the stem due to side loading and wear of the sealing components," Neal says.

In addition to the one-piece model, the new Tufline ball valve is available in two-piece flanged and three-piece screwed, socket-welded and butt-welded end models. For inventory economy, the one-piece and two-piece valves have interchangeable internal parts; the three-piece valve body allows for easy disassembly and maintenance.

They provide tight shutoff from high vacuum through rated pressure at temperatures of -20 degrees F to 450 degrees F.

Neal says the valve's uniquely engineered and precision machined ball assure low operating torque, ensuring economical actuation through reduced seat wear and extended operating life.

Dual body gaskets are standard on the Tufline ball valve - a PTFE chemically inert seal and a secondary FT graphite seal. All standard valves can be easily converted to complete fire test design by simply replacing the Teflon packing with graphite. This eliminates the need for dual inventory. Xomox FT valves meet AP1607 4th ed. The integral ISO 5211 actuator mounting pad assures easy, low cost automation.

Xomox is headquartered in Cincinnati, where it also has a major manufacturing facility. Other operations are in Lindau, Germany; Chihuahua, Mexico; Szekesfehervar, Hungary; and a joint venture in Tiruchirapalli, India. All major Xomox facilities are certified to ISO-9000. Engineering design centers in Cincinnati and Lindau are certified to ISO-9001. Xomox valves meet ANSI, JIS and DIN standards for global applications.

Xomox is an operation of Crane, Co., a manufacturer of engineered industrial products, including valves for processing industries that complement the Xomox product offering.
