New Valenite Valmill(TM) V440 Multi-Tooth Ball Nose End Mills are Designed for Punishing Cuts

Robust design is ideally suited for rough milling and semi-finishing operations. Valenite is introducing a new line of ValMILL(TM) Multi-Tooth Ball Nose End Mills that are ideal for die and mold machining as well as general machining applications. Called the ValMILL(TM) V440 Series, these ball nose cutters have a two-flute design with one insert per flute plus an additional insert along the tool shank that provides the needed protection for larger cutter diameters. Designed for roughing and semi-finishing operations, the ValMILL(TM) V440 Series can effectively perform contouring, produce peripheral cuts, slot, drill and mill die and mold cavities. Workpiece materials that benefit from this cutter design include; carbon and alloy steels, tool and die steels, stainless steel and high-temperature alloys. There are six available ball nose end mill diameter sizes ranging from .625 to 2-inches. Tool lengths can range from 3.531 to 8.250-inches. The insert style is an exclusive Valenite double-end "YP" design that features advanced top form geometry for improved reliability. Insert radii vary for each diameter and special indentation marks on the inserts are matched up with corresponding marks on the cutter body to insure proper installation. The inserts are mounted in the end mill body by a screw using the advanced Torx-Plus® drive mechanism. When desired end mill diameters are over 1.25-inches, either one or two Valenite APMW insert(s) is/are mounted in a secondary pocket(s) flush with the end mill cutter diameter and beneath the front cutting edge to provide protection for the shank. The end mill inserts are a Valenite VP5040 carbide milling grade with a multi-layer PVD TiAlN/TiN coating.
