Marathon® Stainless Steel Ball Bearings Protect Against Corrosion and Contaminants

KULPSVILLE, PA, July 23, 2003 - Marathon® stainless steel single-row deep groove (SRDG) ball bearings from MRC Bearing Services can resist corrosion and feature different closure and lubrication options to promote extended service life and inhibit potentially damaging contamination of bearings even in harsh conditions.

Marathon stainless steel SRDG ball bearings can be specified with solid lubricant packs uniquely able to prevent grease washout during washdowns when used in harsh operating conditions and to provide added protection against contamination. These optional solid lubricant packs, which contain either USDA-approved food grade oil or standard mineral oil, slowly meter the lubricant to the critical parts of the bearing, while exhibiting excellent lubricant retention properties to minimize lubricant loss and extend service life.

All the components of these ball bearings are manufactured using high-quality, corrosion-resistant 400 series stainless steel. The bearings are offered in a wide range of bore sizes from .1250"/3.2mm to 1.3780"/35mm. A variety of dimension series are available in both metric and inch units. Available in open, double sealed or shielded versions, the bearings can perform over a wide range of operating temperatures, loads, and speeds.

Marathon stainless steel SRDG ball bearings can perform in the most demanding applications at food-processing facilities and in other harsh, corrosion-prone applications. If even more corrosion protection is needed, MRC® can provide custom-made bearings made from HNCR stainless steel offering the ultimate in corrosion and fatigue resistance. These and other Made-To-Order (MTO) warranted products can be developed through MRC's dedicated MTO program.
