Balancing Software is available for portable data collector.

Press Release Summary:

Used for balancing non-critical, balance-of-plant machinery running under single operating condition, Snapshot(TM) Balance allows users to correct unbalance problems in general-purpose machinery. Calculations are performed using derived and manually entered influence vectors and can be configured for 1 or 2-plane balancing. Software includes Balance Wizard, vector calculator, and printable reports (generated by connecting data collector to printer).

Balancing Software Now Available for Bently Nevada Data Collector

MINDEN, 30 SEPTEMBER 2002 - Bently Nevada has released Snapshot(TM) Balance software which embeds balancing functionality in their popular Snapshot(TM) for Windows® CE portable data collection/analysis instrument. The software is used for balancing non-critical, balance-of-plant machinery running under a single operating condition.

Jeff Rudd, Bently Nevada's Product Line Manager for Hardware says, "Our Snapshot(TM) portable data collector already allows users to diagnose unbalance problems on their general purpose machinery. Snapshot(TM) Balance software delivers the other half of the equation: it allows users to correct unbalance problems by providing the necessary tools and calculations needed to balance general-purpose machinery." Rudd continues, "We also designed Snapshot(TM) Balance so that on-the-spot, hardcopy reports can be generated simply by connecting the data collector directly to a printer."

Snapshot(TM) Balance software is derived from another software application, Bently BALANCE(TM), which is aimed at critical rotating machinery with multiple balance planes and multiple operating conditions. Snapshot(TM) Balance, while focused on a different category of rotating machinery, incorporates many of the same features and functions of Bently BALANCE(TM), resulting in a powerful and user-friendly application. It utilizes a variety of vibration and phase measurements from a variety of transducers, including proximity probes, velocity transducers, and accelerometers. Calculations can be performed using both derived and manually entered influence vectors and can be configured for one- or two-plane balancing. Snapshot(TM) Balance employs a Balance Wizard, which takes users through an easy step-by-step approach to balancing, from configuring the machine to providing the solution. A vector calculator helps when balance weights need to be split.

Snapshot(TM) Balance is compatible with all new and existing Snapshot(TM) for Windows® CE portable data collector units. It can be installed on existing units using the CD ROM, or it can be pre-installed when ordering new units.
