Original Press Release:

SimplyBackup(TM) 2.5. 64-bit Backups For The Future!

February, 2006, MoodBook Development announces version 2.5 of SimplyBackup, the fastest, easiest and smallest ergonomic backup software product available for Windows XP, 2000, 98, Me, NT, 95, and 2003. MoodBook Development announces an important, principal innovation - full and native support for Zip64, new 64-bit extensions to Zip format, which is used as a standard, portable way to store personal and corporate backups, reliably and securely. SimplyBackup works in compliance with WinZip 9, a world-famous Zip utility, to back up and restore valuable data on any Windows desktop or laptop, either at home or in the office.

The extended Zip64 format lets everyone back up their data in huge Zip backup files of
virtually unlimited size. The original Zip file format limited the number of member files in a Zip file to 65,535, and the maximum size of both the Zip file itself and any member item to 4 gigabytes. For all practical purposes, the 64-bit extended format eliminates all these restrictions. SimplyBackup 2.5 remains fully compatible with the original file format and uses the original Zip format whenever possible.

"One of the best things I like about SimplyBackup is that it simply creates a Zip file. It doesn't use a file format that may not be compatible with other machines or that requires software from the Iomega, etc." - said Fernand Ouellette, a long-time user of SimplyBackup from Essex Junction, Vermont, USA. "For example, if my home computer crashed and I was using Microsoft Backup for Windows 98, I couldn't open the files at work while my home computer was being repaired, since my PC at work uses Windows XP, which isn't compatible with Microsoft Backup for Windows 98. In short, I like the fact that it uses a format I can quickly open on any machine without trying to find and load software. Great, simple, intuitive product."

Other than that, SimplyBackup remains what it has always been, a quick and reliable backup solution for everyone. It was designed around and built for end users. A key design goal for the product was to ensure that users spend their time accomplishing their objectives, rather than worrying about or having to manage their software. Whether you are a small business user, a user in a larger organization, an administrator, or a user working from home, SimplyBackup is the essential tool to protect your productivity, to protect your files and folders.

- Extremely intuitive and easy to use.
