Tornado® Introduces New Lightweight Backpack Vacuum Cleaner

"A Better Way to Clean"

Machine Improves Productivity - Protects Indoor Air Quality

Chicago, IL - December 1, 2007 - Tornado, a leading manufacturer of professional cleaning equipment and supplies, introduces a new lightweight, powerful, and Green backpack vacuum cleaner.

The new machine, called the PV6 Pac-Vac® Vacuum, weighs less than 11 pounds, has superior noise-reducing systems, yet is powered by a 1.9 HP motor, which delivers static lift of 90 inches and airflow of 120 CFM.*

According to Mark Cuddy, Tornado's director of sales, eastern region, engineers of the PV6 series placed considerable emphasis on developing a vacuum that could help bolster productivity, while being environmentally responsible at the same time.

"The machine has been field tested and users were able to improve cleaning productivity dramatically," Cuddy says. "Most users were able to vacuum over 7,000 square feet per hour with the PV6. This is more than double what is normally achievable with a conventional upright machine."

Cuddy adds that the PV6 backpack is also a true-HEPA machine. This means it employs HEPA filters to help trap contaminants, preventing them from becoming airborne. Additionally, the entire casing of the machine and connections are sealed so dust does not escape.

Why Now?

Although backpack vacuum cleaners have been available for more than a decade, it appears more cleaning professionals are expressing an interest in them today. According to a recent survey, conducted in July 2007, 56 percent of the respondents indicated they are interested in selecting a backpack vacuum cleaner. **

"For many years, backpacks had almost a cult following," says Cuddy. "But now that some are becoming lighter, yet powerful, and with the growing transfer to Green cleaning, they seem to be garnering renewed interest."

Cuddy adds that the PV6 series is just one of more than 14 new products Tornado has introduced in 2007. More information on the PV6 and other new products from Tornado is available by visiting www.tornadovac.com.
