Littelfuse Announces New 3.6 x 10 mm Axial Lead Fuse Series

Fuses Save Board Space and Fill Growing Need for Smaller Circuit Protection

DES PLAINES, Illinois, October 20, 2003 - Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS:LFUS) today announced the addition of a new line of 3.6 x 10 mm fuses to its existing family of glass and ceramic axial lead fuses.

The new fuses offer performance specifications similar to conventional 5 x 20mm, 2AG, and 3AG fuses but in a smaller package. Measuring approximately 3.6 mm in diameter by 10 mm in length, the new fuses are ideal for applications where space considerations are important and offer additional board space savings when mounted vertically. Typical applications include ballasts, power supplies, chargers and AC adapters.

All of the new 600 Series fuses have a voltage rating of 250V. The line includes two ceramic models designed to the IEC 60127-3 standard: the 676 fast acting fuse with a current rating of 0.05A-to-6.3A and the 677 time delay fuse, with a current rating of 0.25A-to-6.3A.

Littelfuse also offers four versions designed to the UL/CSA 248 standard, two in glass and two in ceramic. The 672 and 673 glass body fuses both offer current ratings of 0.10A-to-10A with a wide range of nominal resistance values. The 674 ceramic body fuses offer current ratings of 0.10A-to-8A and the 675 ceramic body fuses offer current ratings of 0.10A-to-5A.

The 676 and 677 fuses are approved by VDE, recognized by UL and CSA, and CCC approval is pending. The 672, 673, 674 and 675 fuses are all listed by Underwriters Laboratory and CSA Certified.

600 Series fuses are currently offered only in axial lead version and samples are available. Pricing is available separately and production leadtime is 5 weeks. Customers can obtain more information on 600 Series fuses by contacting a Littelfuse Applications Engineer at 1-800-999-9445 (phone), or 847-391-0459 (FAX) or contact your local Littelfuse sales representative or distributor.
