AVM's free update package adds countless new functions to its popular FRITZ!Box. The latest firmware is available for immediate download at www.avm.de/en. With the practical child lock, energy-saving Eco Mode, and improved ease-of-use and performance, the software update offers considerable additional functions and features.

Child Lock: Customise Surf Times and Lengths

The child lock easily lets you define the hours and the amount of time your children are allowed to use the Internet. The lock lets you restrict Internet usage based on your child's age and define different surfing times for weekdays and weekends.

Eco Mode: Save Energy with the FRITZ!Box

The Eco Mode helps reduce FRITZ!Box power consumption. Various features, such as automatic reduction of processor power when FRITZ!Box is idle or an energy-saving mode for unused LAN ports, reduce overall power consumption significantly. With the familiar WLAN sleep mode or WLAN switch, users can customise their units to save even more energy. The energy monitor provides an overview of the current and average energy savings for FRITZ!Box. Thanks to this feature, AVM already meets the EU Commission's current draft on broadband device energy efficiency.

WLAN: Multimedia Data Streaming and Power Saving Options with WMM Support

FRITZ!Box uses WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) for optimum wireless data streaming. WMM also lets you use new power-saving options, important for portable devices.
