AVL Emission Test Systems presents details of the new iGENERATION Series II

AVL Emission Test Systems (AVL ETS) presents details of the new iGENERATION Series II product line for emissions measurement technology at the Automotive Testing Expo 2015 Europe in Stuttgart.

The latest version of the established AVL iGEM Vehicle test bench automation was shown to interested visitors to the trade fair from 16 to 18 June 2015.

The Automotive Testing Expo is among the leading exhibitions in the area of testing equipment for the automotive industry.

This year, AVL ETS focused on current topics such as new emissions measurement technology and new automation concerning worldwide emission legislation.

Using the exhibits as examples, the AVL experts presented a range of innovations in the Series II products in detail, such as the new CVS bag valve matrix and the iGEM Vehicle automation solution for hybrid vehicles (HEV/PHEV).

For measurements on SCR emissions after-treatment systems in particular, the AVL CLD i60 has been further improved. During operation at 180°C, AVL HOT CLD i60 HH(D) SCR prevents the condensation of ammonium salts in the device.

Another innovation, the AVL FTIR i60 spectrometer, offers further optimized evaluation methods, improved detection limits and quicker response times at lower gas flows. These enhanced features have opened up new areas of application.

AVL QCL i60 ideally supports compliance with the EPA Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Regulation regarding the measurement of N2O (laughing gas). For quicker and more accurate oxygen measurements, a new PMD, which is integrated in AVL FID i60 devices, was also presented at the Automotive exhibition.

The visitors' feedback at the AVL booth at Automotive Testing Expo 2015 Stuttgart proved that AVL's broad range of expertise also found considerable approval in the areas of particulate measurement technology, electrification as well as powertrain development and simulation software.

Konrad Hinterhofer, Managing Director of AVL Emission Test Systems GmbH:

"This time, we decided not to simply present the standard, widely known large instrument cabinets, but to show important improvements to the details of the inner workings of our measurement technology instead and help people to understand them. In addition, live demos of our iGEM Vehicle Software were also presented. With our software, we are already optimally supporting the sophisticated testing of hybrid vehicles or the WLTP as a standard. All of these topics received a considerable amount of attention from the visitors."

Participation in international exhibitions and conferences on the topics of automotive, engines and emissions form part of AVL's company philosophy. The experts from AVL Emission Test Systems work closely together with their international customers and actively and globally participate in the legislative bodies to ensure that they are promptly informed about any new trends. This is how we are able to develop innovative solutions for the requirements of tomorrow which offer the optimum security of investment for the users.
