Avery Dennison to Give the Holidays a Lift: Mailing Labels That Are Easy to Peel

New Avery® Easy Peel Clear and White Mailing Labels Add Special Feature to Make Peeling Labels Easier Than Ever
BREA, Calif., Aug. 1 // -- As the holidays approach, consumers across the country are updating their address books, creating new holiday card lists and preparing gifts to mail. With that comes the task of making address labels for those millions of cards and packages that will be sent to business associates, friends and family.

"Many Americans are using printable mailing labels to send holiday cards and packages because it's easier than writing addresses by hand," said Scott Kerr, Product Manager, Labels Marketing for Avery Dennison. "Yet at the same time, consumers struggle to find the corner of a label to lift. Avery has taken their comments to heart and we have designed a new, innovative way to peel labels off the backing. We like to think of this as our holiday 'lift' this year."
The improvements in the Avery labels now allow for the columns of labels to be separated after the sheet is run through the printer. Separating the columns exposes label edges for easier, faster peeling.
The new Avery Easy Peel labels will be available in both clear and white for both laser jet and ink jet printing, and will be in stores nationwide by November 1, 2006. The labels will be offered in the most common sizes used, which include 1"x2-5/8", 2"x4", and the ½"x1-¾" labels.
In addition to Easy Peel labels, this holiday season will see a new and improved Avery Wizard 3.0 for Microsoft Word available for consumers to use in creating their holiday labels. The improvements include an easier to use mail merge capability and a faster way to drop in logos and graphics. Avery Wizard 3.0 is expected to be released in the fourth quarter of 2006 and will be available as a free download at Avery.com.
