AVerMedia® Scores a Double-Play for the 2008 CES Innovations Design & Engineering Awards


Two AVerMedia AVerTV PC-TV Tuners Honored with the 2008 CES Innovations Design & Engineering Award in the Video Accessories Category.

MILPITAS, Calif., Nov. 27 -- AVerMedia® Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of digital multimedia and presentation technology announced today the AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid VolarMax and AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress were both selected as a CES 2008 Innovations Design and Engineering Award Winner in the Video Accessories category. Each year, CES Innovations award winning products have served as a benchmark for the latest in consumer technologies, showcasing the latest design and engineering innovations. The two AVerTV Tuners count for AVerMedia's 8th and 9th CES Design and Engineering Award wins since 2002, joining other AVerMedia Surveillance, TV Tuner and Video Capture products.

The AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid VolarMax is an external, flash drive-size USB TV Tuner with the ability to broadcast both Analog or HDTV on a Windows XP or Vista desktop or laptop. HDTV can be viewed either Over-the-Air ATSC, or via the Unencrypted "Clear" QAM support which enables users to watch HDTV through their cable provider. Advanced H.264 recording compression significantly reduces the amount of hard disk space needed for recording. The optional 320x240 resolution enables users to save video to an iPod Video. Users can also connect their game console, camcorder or VHS to play or capture analog video.

The AVerMedia AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress is a 54mm ExpressCard TV Tuner allowing users to view both Analog and HDTV on their ExpressCard compatible Laptop. The Slim-Fit design easily inserts completely into the ExpressCard slot, leaving no protrusion of the unit outside of the laptop. HDTV can be viewed either over-the-air, or via the Unencrypted "Clear" QAM support which enables users to watch HDTV through their cable provider.
