Autoscope® RVP2 Added to Texas DOT Qualified List

Anaheim, Calif. - Econolite, and its Texas distributor, Paradigm Traffic Systems of Arlington, Texas, today announced that Autoscope RVP2 (Autoscope RackVision Pro 2) has been added to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Qualified Product List (QPL) for above-ground video detection. Autoscope RVP2 exceeded 95 percent accuracy rate in all lanes of travel, meeting the demanding requirements of the TxDOT QPL program.
According to Econolite- already on the TxDOT Pre-Qualified list for the ASC/3 signal controller and traffic signals - the addition of Autoscope RVP2 is an important achievement for above-ground, non-intrusive detection. "Autoscope RVP2 is an ideal solution for providing cost effective vehicle detection and signal actuation," said Econolite Senior Vice President of Sales Jeff Spinazze. "In addition, RVP2 offers retrievable traffic data collection capabilities that are not available from inductive loops."

The Autoscope RVP2 is a dual-channel Machine Vision Processor designed to meet intersection detection objectives of vehicle detection and signal actuation in a typical traffic cabinet. The RVP2 fits into a detector rack or shelf-mount enclosure. Sources of video signal that integrate with RVP2 include the Autoscope Image Sensor (AIS) or existing CCTV cameras that meet minimum performance standards. Multi-threaded software processes video images in real-time to detect traffic. Autoscope RVP2 leverages the same algorithms that established Autoscope video detection as the global leader for wide-area video vehicle detection.
