Autosampler extends capabilities of GC or GC/MS.

Press Release Summary:

Model AS2500plus Pyrolysis Autosampler performs thermal desorption and pyrolysis on same sample. Unit handles up to 36 samples and can be programmed through handheld controller or Windows® based software for unattended operation. It can be programmed for temperature rates from 0.01°C/min to 20,000°C/sec and max temperature of 1300°C. Difficult samples such as polymers, adhesives, paint, rubber, tobacco, packaging, inks, and textiles can be analyzed.

AS2500Plus Pyrolysis Autosampler Designed to Extend Capabilities of GC or GC/MS for Difficult to Analyze Liquid or Solid Samples

The AS2500plus Pyrolysis Autosampler from CDS Analytical extends the capabilities of a GC or GC/MS to analyze difficult samples such as polymers, adhesives, paint, rubber, tobacco, packaging, inks, and textiles. Designed to perform thermal desorption and pyrolysis on the same sample, the AS2500plus offers cost saving efficiencies during operation. The unit has a sample capacity of up to 36 samples and can be programmed through a handheld controller or Windows® based software for unattended operation. AS2500plus software allows multiple pyrolysis and thermal desorption of the same sample with either constant pressure or flow. The pyrolysis chamber is online with the GC only during the pyrolysis/thermal desorption step. The software controls recalibration of the number of sample tubes so that the AS2500plus can self diagnose possible errors associated with carousel index and sample tube location. Under software control, offline rotations of the valve during the self-maintenance cycle are decreased for longer valve life.

The pneumatic system of the AS2500plus provides for sample drops through the center of the valve. The valve rotor can be rotated 180 degrees to extend its life. The pyrolysis chamber of the AS2500plus has enough height to avoid valve damage on rotation should two sample tubes drop into the chamber. The cover over the carousel "staging area" prevents the user from adding sample tubes in the "staging area" after start has been initiated. The AS2500plus can be programmed for temperature rates from 0.01°C/min to 20,000°C/sec and a maximum temperature of 1300°C.
