Autonomy's Virage Technology Chosen for Video Search for Microsoft MSN, AOL and Lycos


Autonomy OEM Using Patented Speech Recognition and Pattern Recognition Technologies to Deliver Exceptional User Experience

CAMBRIDGE, England, October 10 // -- Autonomy Corporation plc (LSE: AU. or AU.L), a global leader in infrastructure software for the enterprise and proponent of meaning-based computing, today announced that its OEM, blinkx has entered agreements with Microsoft MSN, AOL and Lycos to provide advanced video search incorporating Autonomy's Virage technology. The technology includes audio and scene recognition which minimizes the need for the manual addition of metadata.

Lycos' 25 million visitors can now use conceptual search on blinkx's index of more than five million hours of multimedia, including TV clips, short documentaries, music videos, video blogs and more.
