Eaton Supplies Distributed Generation Solutions Through Its Cutler-Hammer Brand Automatic Transfer Switches

PITTSBURGH, PA. Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation's line of Cutler-Hammer automatic transfer switch equipment addresses distributed generation's growing demand for back-up power generation and to help offset utility costs during peak demand periods.

Cutler-Hammer automatic transfer switches are delivered completely assembled, pre- wired and tested. Simplified mounting is provided by the teardrop keyhole design that makes leveling easier. Only four connections are required for start-up and single-person installation is possible because of the small physical size and light weight.

"Our automatic transfer switches are designed to ensure reliability so customers never have to worry about losing power, or paying high prices during peak demand times," said Tom Speas, business unit manager.

Cutler-Hammer Molded Case Switches help ensure that power will be switched properly each and every time. The molded Case Switches have been proven through industry-leading contact and mechanism technology, extensive testing and field use. Unlike components used in traditional transfer switches, molded case type switch components are subjected to follow-up testing by Underwriters Laboratories.

Cutler-Hammer Automatic Transfer Switches monitor both normal and standby power sources, include four separate time delays and microprocessor logic for completely automatic operation.
