Industry's First Heavy Duty Automatic Belt & Chain Tensioner

MANHEIM, PA, October 1, 2003 -Fenner Drives, a leader in the manufacture of power transmission and motion transfer components, introduces the industry's first heavy duty automatic tensioner for multiple belt and chain drives. With a wealth of experience in designing rotary and linear tensioners, Fenner engineers have developed a tensioner specifically suited to high speed or heavily loaded industrial belt and chain applications. The T-Max(TM) RT4000 series incorporates a number of features new to industrial tensioner design. Tension and drive vibration dampening are provided by an alloy steel torsional wrapped spring. This spring is easily reversed, making the RT4000 bi-directional, allowing users to optimize positioning. The unique stamped steel arm design is offset to direct idler load over supporting bearings thereby eliminating or reducing the effects of overhung load. Arms are removable and custom lengths can be specified to allow ideal idler positioning for almost any given drive. The rugged housing and base are fabricated from die-cast aluminum. And, like all T-Max tensioners from Fenner Drives, the RT4000 is installed with a single mounting bolt. To complement the T-Max heavy duty RT4000, Fenner Drives is introducing a range of nylon multiple V-groove and flat idler pulleys for use with B/5V drives. Other idler configurations will be available on request.
