Automatic Shut-Off Valve Assemblies maximize plant protection.

Press Release Summary:

Thermo-electric fusible link assemblies let operator close singular fire safe certified valve (or series) via low-voltage signal from PLC or switch. Also, links will yield when ambient temperature approaches rated temperature and close valve locally. Manual use is permitted while unit is still armed, and fail open version suits applications that call for assembly to drain or vent tank if emergency occurs. Series is available ½–2 in. NPS in NPT, socket weld, or 150 lb flanged ends.

Maximize Plant Protection with Redesigned Automatic Shut-Off Valve

BI-TORQ© Valve Automation has streamlined the design on its thermo-electric fusible link valve assemblies to shorten lead times and make them a more competitive package.

Thermo-electric fusible link assemblies allow an operator to close a singular fire safe certified valve or a series of them quickly with a low voltage signal from a PLC or switch. The links will also yield when the ambient temperature approaches the rated temperature of the link and will close a valve locally. As an added design feature, the assemblies can be used manually while the unit is still armed. A fail open version is also available if the application calls for an assembly to drain or vent a tank in the event of a fire or other emergency.

The series is available 1/2” through 2” NPS in NPT, socket weld, or 150# flanged ends. The API 607 certified ball valves used on the assemblies are available with carbon or stainless steel bodies. Valve internals are stainless steel with RTFE seats and graphoil body/stem seals.

BI-TORQ® Valve Automation, now in its 20th year, started with a single line of pneumatic rack and pinion actuators. The company has grown tremendously since then and now offers a full line of automated ball and butterfly valve packages, actuators and valves for retrofits, and a suite of safety products including fire safe fusible link assemblies, spring return handles, and fusible plugs. BI-TORQ® Valve Automation’s parent company, AVK Carbo-Bond, is a family-owned business specializing in valve mounting kits, stem extensions, lock-out kits, and customized solutions such as butterfly valve tee linkages and tandem mounting kits.
