Automated Module aids spectroscopic collection, model development.

Press Release Summary:

EDX Experiment Design and Execution Module automates spectroscopic data collection and chemometric model development. Without requiring duplicate manual data entry, functionality allows spectra to be collected using Symbion LX, DX, or RX and transferred directly to Symbion QT chemometrics. During collection, user can add variables, create component values spreadsheet, and annotate memo block for each spectrum. Users can also, upon deployment, add multiple trends based on calculations.

Original Press Release:

New Experiment Design and Execution Capability for Spectroscopic Data Processing and Multivariate Analysis

Tustin, Calif. – Symbion Systems, Inc. a leading provider of analytical instrument control, analysis, and connectivity software for both laboratory and real-time chemical process analysis, today announced the introduction of its EDX Experiment Design and Execution Module. The new module automates the process of spectroscopic data collection and chemometric model development. It allows spectra to be collected using Symbion LX, DX, or RX and transferred directly to Symbion QT chemometrics without the need for duplicate manual data entry. During collection, the user can add any number of variables, create a spreadsheet of component values, and annotate a memo block for each spectrum. All of this information is transferred intact to Symbion QT to facilitate the building of any number of multivariate calibrations. On deployment, EDX allows the user to add multiple trends based on calculations such as peak height, peak ratio, or integral as well as chemometric predictions.

Symbion’s EDX module is the latest member of the Company’s expanding family of solutions for spectroscopic analysis. The data acquisition family includes Symbion LX, DX, and RX, which provide analysts and technicians comprehensive capability for every aspect laboratory and real time process analysis. In addition to providing for control of specific instruments, they serve as comprehensive Spectroscopy Data Stations. Furthermore, they empower analysts and technicians alike to exploit the benefits of the Quality by Design (QbD) approach which is gaining importance for pharmaceutical PAT (Process Analytical Technology) and on-line chemical process monitoring. Symbion QT provides expert level chemometrics combined with a streamlined and intuitive user interface. Symbion RTM employs multithreaded data processing to facilitate rapid deployment of analyzers capable of very high data rates (e.g. of thirty or more analytical outputs per second).
