dSPACE's New TargetLink® Simplifies AUTOSAR Compliancy

TargetLink® 2.2 Bridges Gap between Model-Based Design and Open System Architecture

DETROIT, Oct. 17 / - dSPACE, a German-based company with North American headquarters in Novi, Mich., announced today that it is preparing to release a new version of its TargetLink® autocoding software that supports automotive manufacturers and suppliers in achieving compliancy with AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture) standards for electronic control units (ECUs).

Available later this year, TargetLink® 2.2 converts model-based control systems directly into AUTOSAR-compliant production code. The newest version of this industry-leading software program also provides extensive support for modeling, simulating and generating code for AUTOSAR software components, according to Kevin Kott, president of dSPACE, Inc.

"The AUTOSAR initiative is an extremely significant undertaking geared at helping automotive OEMs and suppliers improve the quality and reliability of their electronic systems," he said. "TargetLink 2.2 will be a valuable resource for automotive companies working within AUTOSAR guidelines."

TargetLink was first introduced in 2000. TargetLink's newest version, TargetLink 2.2, will include new function blocks that enable developers to specify AUTOSAR structural elements, such as interfaces and ports, at the model level.

TargetLink has been on the road in more than 50 mass-produced vehicles worldwide since 2000. Thirty-five automotive OEMs and more than 75 suppliers - including eight of the world's largest commercial vehicle manufacturers and 25 tier ones - use TargetLink.

"TargetLink 2.2 paves the way for fast implementation of AUTOSAR-compliant software in ECUs, within an integrated, tool-supported process," said Kott. "Version 2.2 also provides more flexible code generation and extended modeling options."

Technical experts from dSPACE will be available (at Booth 1107) to answer questions on TargetLink and other ECU development products at the Convergence 2006 Conference, Oct. 16-18 at Cobo Center, Detroit, Michigan.

dSPACE is a Premium member of the AUTOSAR partnership and has been actively involved in specifying the automotive E/E (electrics/electronics) architecture standard since April 2004.
