Activcard Announces AAA Server with Integrated Wireless LAN Security

Fremont, CA - June 8, 2004 - ActivCard Corp. (NASDAQ: ACTI), a global provider of strong authentication and trusted digital identity solutions, today announced availability of its new AAA Server with integrated wireless security for enterprises needing to control and manage remote network access. The ActivCard AAA Server is the only integrated solution on the market combining standards-based WLAN security and a wide range of authentication technology including static passwords, tokens, soft tokens, USB keys and smart cards.
While more and more enterprises are taking advantage of the benefits of wireless networking, security weaknesses have remained an obstacle to widespread adoption. The newest ActivCard offering combines strong authentication, while adhering to 802.11i and the Wi-Fi Alliance (WPA) security standards, to provide a complete solution for wireless LAN security.

The ActivCard AAA Server is a strong, scalable authentication server offering full Authentication Authorization and Accounting services that integrates into an existing network infrastructure seamlessly. User identities can be verified via static password, synchronous or challenge/response authentication as well as 802.1x authentication providing additional security and lower administration costs for customers.
Unlike other strong authentication providers, ActivCard standards-based server platform meets enterprise-specific needs at a much lower total cost of ownership by centrally managing WPA authentication and 2-factor authentication in a single server as well as integrating with existing LDAP directory structures to manage users and their rights. Additionally, ActivCard devices come with perpetual licenses that do not expire bringing down the cost of strong authentication to make it more affordable for more people.
