Auralex Helps American Rockers, Collective Soul, Achieve Total Acoustical Harmony

ANAHEIM, CA - Auralex Acoustics, Inc. (Winter NAMM 2011 Booth 6698, Hall A) recently helped band members from the Billboard platinum-selling Collective Soul achieve total sound control in their individual Atlanta-based home recording studios. The musicians' newly updated studios, complete with T'Fusors, StudioFoam and other Auralex products, provided the ultimate foundation for the band members to create their soon-to-be-released new CD, due out in 2011.

The project was initiated when Collective Soul drummer, Cheney Brannon, a long-time user of Auralex's Hover Deck Drum Platform, contacted Auralex for some added help with his drum room. Auralex supplied various acoustical treatment products to create a well-balanced, acoustical environment in a run-of-the-mill space, enabling a seasoned pro like Brannon to sound even better. Enthusiastic about the new recording space, Brannon encouraged Collective Soul front man, songwriter, guitarist and founder, Ed Roland, to treat his own studio space with similar Auralex products.

"Auralex came in and made my garage and Ed's basement into a fully functional recording and listening environment suitable for any professional musician," says Brannon. "We were treated excellent by all the staff at Auralex and the treatment that they meticulously picked out for us has truly worked out perfectly. We will definitely continue to use Auralex for all of our room treatment needs!"

Roland started by revamping an empty room in his basement and with the help of one of Auralex's application specialists, a personalized room analysis and a vivid imagination, Auralex was able to design Roland an acoustically controlled space, suited for everything a band the caliber of Collective Soul needs. By installing an array of acoustical treatments that addressed diffusion and absorption needs, the room was transformed into a top-notch recording and mixing space, exactly what a front man for a rock band with seven number one hits needed.

"The Auralex team was honored to help Collective Soul meet its home recording studio needs," says Eric Smith, president and founder of Auralex Acoustics. "This is truly one of the best bands in the business and represents the kind of musicians we seek to work with. These musicians recognize and appreciate the fact that the proper amount of absorption, bass trapping and diffusion can help any artist sound even better."
