Allegro DVT Enhances Its AL2000 N-Screen OTT Transcoder
GRENOBLE, France, -- Allegro DVT unveils tons of new features for the AL2000 Live Transcoder at IPTV-WF 2011. Come meet us and discover these news features at IPTV-WF on booth #12.
New features include:
- Multi-encapsulation for multi-format streaming with no additional CPU load.
The AL2000 now delivers a single live stream to several WebTV formats simultaneously, sharing a single H.264 embedded encoder. With this neat feature, the AL2000 reaches a new level of scalability, providing Apple HLS, Microsoft Smooth Streaming and Adobe Flash streams, with the same CPU usage as single-format video encoding.
- Generic DRM Interface lets customers use their own DRM system.
Allegro DVT extends already existing support for Verimatrix with a Generic DRM Interface. This open interface allows any middleware provider or DRM vendor to interface the AL2000 with its existing DRM system.
- Ready for Start Over and Catch-Up TV.
Thanks to its live+file outputs, the AL2000 is the perfect solution for full-featured streaming including Start Over and Catch-Up TV. The AL2000 is constantly tested against a variety of streaming servers and third part products to ensure seamless solution integration.
- Support for VP8 to prepare integration with HTML5.
Allegro DVT announces upcoming AL2000 support for Google VP8, extending Allegro DVT expertise to this promising codec. The result will be high quality service without compromising the huge number of channels per unit.
- Enhanced H.264 rate-control mode providing optimal video quality for HTTP-based delivery.
