Advantech Launches Dual-Core Industrial ATX Motherboard
The AIMB-762 is a dual-core industrial ATX motherboard starting at $390.
(Cincinnati, Ohio - 06/29/2006) - The eAutomation Group of Advantech introduces the AIMB-762 industrial dual-core ATX motherboard. The AIMB-762 supports the Intel dual-core Pentium D, Pentium 4, and Celeron D processors in the LGA775 socket. It's built on the Intel 945G chipset and delivers computing speeds of over 3.8 GHz with a front side bus up to 533/800 MHz. With 10.7 GB/S of bandwidth and up to 4 GB/S of memory, the dual DDRII 533/667 SDRAM enhances computing capability and memory performance with faster system responsiveness and support for 64-bit computing. Unlike single-core CPUs, the AIMB-762 supports Pentium D dual-core processors that feature two execution cores and adopt individually dedicated L2 cache up to 2 MB to boost multi-tasking power.
The AIMB-762 has several I/O expansion options: one PCI-Express x16 and one PCI-Express x4 interface, as well as five 32-bit /33 MHz PCI slots. With up to 8 GB/S concurrent and bi-directional bandwidth, the PCI-Express x16 interface operates as a graphics or a general purpose I/O. The 32-bit/33 MHz PCI supports most of the expansion devices currently available. Also, the AIMB-762 provides eight hi-speed USB 2.0 connectivity and four on-board serial ATA II ports with transfer rates up to 3 GB/S for a wide range of peripheral devices. The AIMB-762 provides flexible storage and reliable data protection with multi-software RAID support, including RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 offering reliable data protection to users without the added cost of an expensive RAID card.
The AIMB-762 delivers high bandwidth aggregation and reliable LAN performance with dual PCI-Express x1 Gigabit Ethernets. Each PCI Express host interfaces offers up to 3.5 times the bandwidth over traditional PCI architecture, delivering faster access to peripheral devices and networking. Dual Gigabit Ethernets delivers redundancy in case one of the LAN ports fail.
The AIMB-762 features excellent graphics performance with integrated graphics and an exclusive PCI-Express x16 expansion slot. The onboard integrated VGA controller along with Intel's Graphics Media Accelerator 950 are equipped to share memory of up to 244 MB and offer a cost-effective graphics solution with superior multimedia and 3D performance. For higher graphic capability, there's an advanced PCI Express x16 expansion interface which delivers greater than 3.5 times the bandwidth over the traditional AGP 8X interface to support the latest high performance video cards.
