ATTO Technology Named Finalist for Storage Magazine Product of the Year

TTO Technology, Inc., a global leader of storage connectivity and infrastructure solutions for data-intensive computing environments, today announced that its market-leading ExpressSAS(TM) R380 Serial Attached SCSI RAID controller has been selected by Storage Magazine as a finalist for a Product of the Year award, beating out rivals Adaptec and LSI Logic.

The ExpressSAS R380 was named as a finalist for Product of the Year honors in the disk and disk subsystem category along with products from other market leaders, including as EMC (NYSE:EMC), Network Appliance (NASDAQ: NTAP) and Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX). In addition, ATTO's ExpressPCI(TM) UL5D low-profile SCSI host adapter was chosen as a finalist in the network equipment category, making ATTO one of only two vendors, along with NetApp, to have Product of the Year finalists in two hardware categories.

"We're honored that Storage Magazine has recognized the performance, value and versatility of the ExpressSAS R380 by making it the only SAS connectivity product to earn a spot as a finalist for Product of the Year," said Ed Tierney, director of marketing for ATTO Technology. "The ExpressSAS products provide unmatched SAS performance to deliver measurable business advantages in the areas of digital media production, enterprise backup, data mining and other data-intensive applications."

About the ExpressSAS R380 SAS RAID Controller

Featuring an advanced fault-tolerant design that includes hot swap, hot spares, online capacity expansion, battery back-up, and optimized disk utilization for SAS drives, SATA II drives, or any combination of the two, the ATTO ExpressSAS R380 adapter deliver an intelligent and robust low-profile RAID solution. The SAS and SATA II support makes it easy to create cost-effective multi-tiered storage solutions in a single cabinet, utilizing cost-correct SATA drives for secondary storage while staging critical primary data on higher-performance SAS disks. These adapters will support standard RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 and features ATTO's exclusive DVRAID, making them capable of handling the most demanding applications such as 2K and 4K film, multiple layers of complex, uncompressed real-time effects, and high-definition video editing.

The Express R380 provides 8 external SAS ports, and is complemented by ATTO's R348 controller that offers the same technology and customer benefits but includes user-configurable SAS port options with four external and four internal ports or 8 internal ports in the same low-profile form factor.
