Atrion Previews New SaaS Application for Authoring Multilingual Safety Data Sheets

Plans and Vision for New SaaS Authoring Tool Presented Today at Atrion's User Group Meeting in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, THE NETHERLANDS, April 14, 2010 Today at the 13th annual Atrion User Group Meeting in Amsterdam, Atrion International www.atrionintl.com/?source=poe-pr unveiled "POE", which is the code name for its new on-demand (SaaS) offering that cost-effectively automates the creation of globally compliant and multilingual Safety Data Sheets (SDS http://atrionintl.com/en/msds?source=poe-pr).

A Powered by ACE(TM) atrionintl.com/en/technology-platform-compliance/technology-platform-product-compliance?source=poe-pr solution, POE leverages Atrion's Managed Regulatory Content atrionintl.com/en/chemical-regulatory-content?source=poe-pr to reduce risks of non-compliance by generating SDSs that are based on the latest laws and regulations. Atrion's trusted and up-to-date Managed Regulatory Content consists of data on over 300,000 chemical substances, 15,000 regulatory phrases in over 44 languages, 7,500 proprietary rules, and 100 templates spanning 50 plus countries. POE enables SDS authors and EH&S staff around the world to easily access a secure and centralized web-based platform leveraging Atrion's renowned regulatory content for the generation of all SDSs, regardless of product or location of the user.

"The Atrion User Group Meetings are organized for Atrion's worldwide customers and are the perfect venues to reveal this major evolution in authoring solutions for the industry," said Patrick J. Lavoie, CEO and President at Atrion International. "The conferences provide an opportunity for environmental health and safety (EH&S) specialists to discuss the latest compliance challenges, and exchange ideas and best practices amongst their peers."

Simon Jacobson, Research director at AMR Research (recently acquired by Gartner, Inc.) stated in his February 11, 2010 report titled "EH&S Content: A Foundational Component of Green Product Supply Networks", "Buyers beware: Regardless of the software platform chosen, embedded content is paramount. ... Keep an eye out for providers that have integrated content and software on the same platform."

Atrion is responding to this critical market requirement with its ACE platform and Powered by ACE(TM) strategy by developing innovative product compliance solutions such as POE. This approach benefits both enterprise and mid-market companies who are challenged by existing and future green legislations.

POE is scheduled for general release in the second half of 2010.
