Atlas Offers Classes on Weathering Fundamentals and Weather-Ometer® Training
Chicago (February 2006) - Atlas Material Testing Technology LLC, the recognized leader in quality control and quality assurance testing, will be offering a series of professional courses in the U.S. on weathering, as well as on the operation, calibration and maintenance of Atlas's high-quality Ci35 Series, Ci65 Series, Ci4000 and Ci5000 Weather-Ometer® testing instruments at multiple locations nationwide.

That's why continuing education on weathering is really vital to the many professionals who have key responsibilities related to product performance and durability," said Allen Zielnik, Atlas Director of Strategic Sales.
Fundamentals of Weathering I introduces the basics of both natural and accelerated weathering testing to those involved in designing, evaluating, specifying, selling or purchasing materials or products that could be affected by exposure to light or weather. Special attention is given to proper techniques for the accurate testing of: paints and protective coatings, automotive materials, architectural building products, molded plastic materials. Textile and fiber lightfastness and weatherability are also discussed.
Fundamentals of Weathering II is an advanced seminar for those who want to increase their knowledge of how various weather and climatic factors can affect materials, and how to test the resistance of a formulation or product to these factors. This course will examine the way advanced laboratory instruments control irradiance, humidity and temperature. Visual and instrumental evaluation methods for determining both appearance and physical attributes will be taught.
Tuition for both courses is $195 per person and includes continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments and course materials. Advanced registration is required. A 10% discount is given on each class to students who attend both courses.
Weather-Ometer® Workshops are designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in the proper operation, calibration and maintenance of Atlas's high-quality Weather-Ometer® testing instruments in order to ensure longer, more accurate functioning. Real-world applications are emphasized. All Weather-Ometer® Workshops are held at the Atlas Weathering Services Group's South Florida Test Service facility located in Miami, Florida. Advance registration is required.
The Ci4000/Ci5000 Weather-Ometer® Workshop is a dedicated one-day course for the operators of the latest in weathering technology: the Atlas Ci4000 and Ci5000 Xenon Weather-Ometers®. After reviewing basic operation, calibration and maintenance, attendees will learn how to navigate the state-of-the art controller to conduct on-line calibration, set up custom test programs, and troubleshoot through comprehensive diagnostic screens. The tuition for this course is $550 per person and includes continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments, plus all course materials.
The Ci35/Ci65 Series Weather-Ometer® Workshop is a two-day training course that provides fundamental training for operators of these instruments. The tuition for this course is $925 per person and includes continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments on both days, plus all course materials.
The Advanced Ci35/Ci65 Series Weather-Ometer® Workshop is a one-day course focused on programming, wiring diagram comprehension and troubleshooting. The tuition fee is $550, and includes continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments, plus all course materials.
