Atkins Installs SaaS WMS from Wright Business Solutions, Inc.

Improves productivity and gains advanced EDI and compliance labeling capabilities

Milwaukee, WI - Wright Business Solutions, a leading provider of warehouse management software (WMS), announced that Atkins Nutritionals Inc. has implemented a SaaS version of Wright WMS to improve productivity, visibility and compliance labeling at its Romeoville, IL distribution center.

Atkins distributes nutritional shakes and bars to 30,000 locations around the world. Since implementing Wright WMS, Atkins has gained real-time visibility into employee productivity with advanced Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tracking and a flexible, user-defined dashboard. Set-up for new customer labeling, EDI and reporting requirements is fast and simple with Wright WMS built-in templates. Mobile printers enable printing on the fly, and order processing time is greatly decreased.

"We evaluated several WMS solutions and chose the SaaS version of Wright WMS because it provided more features and greater flexibility than our existing system," said Jose Osuna, Demand Planning Manager, Atkins Nutritionals. "We needed a more robust system to support our growth and to simplify processes like adding new customers. With the built-in templates and flexibility from Wright WMS, new customers are set up quickly by our own staff."

"WMS in a software as a service (SaaS) model is becoming more popular with companies who are looking to replace an outdated system without the high up-front capital investment required in the past," said Bryan Wright, President, Wright Business Solutions. "Also, with today's smaller IT staffs it makes sense to offload implementation and maintenance duties to the software vendor who has the most expertise with the solution."

Analysts agree with the SaaS model. In a Logistics Management magazine article from July 2011, Gartner research vice president, Tom Eid stated, "After more than a decade of use, adoption of SaaS continues to grow and evolve within the enterprise application markets. This is occurring as tighter capital budgets demand leaner alternatives, popularity and familiarity with the model increases, and interest in platform as a service (PaaS) and cloud computing grows."
