Network Administrators are Instantly Alerted to Network Security Events, Providing a Live View of the Network
SAN FRANCISCO, RSA Conference (Booth 412), February 6, 2007 - Arxceo® Corporation, a provider of anti-reconnaissance and anomaly-based attack prevention technology, today announced the availability of Arxceo Ally ReconAlert, a free software package for Windows that enables network administrators to continuously monitor Syslog output from their Ally ip100(TM) security appliance. The Ally ip100 is designed to protect small-to-medium-sized business networks, as well as an Enterprise's wireless access points and branch or remote offices from network reconnaissance, zero-day attacks, DNS cache poisoning and denial of service attacks. Arxceo's ReconAlert provides centralized real-time popup alerts as soon as events occur.
"We believe that the Arxceo Ally ReconAlert is a great tool for the network administrator who wants a live view of the security events occurring on the network," said Don Davidson, CEO, Arxceo. "The freeware will enable the user to be more efficient and make better use of their time since they can see what is happening to the network through a small pop-screen on their PC, as well as take advantage of significant viewing enhancements to determine how they want to see the information coming in."
Arxceo's ReconAlert is simple to install and requires no SNMP or Syslog server configuration. The software can start automatically upon Windows startup and can be minimized or configured on the user's PC. ReconAlert viewing enhancements include the ability to sort the various columns of captured information such as device name, date or event type. For example, the administrator can filter the ReconAlert to provide alerts on only certain types of events such as blacklistings or password changes. The information is automatically color-coded depending on type. Administrators can also store current displays through a snapshot option. In addition, alerts from numerous Ally ip100s can be centralized to one or two PCs giving users greater visibility from a single location.
Arxceo's Ally ReconAlert is available through the Arxceo Website (www.arxceo.com). Arxceo will support the Ally ReconAlert for the Ally IP1000 security appliance later this year, as well as a professional version that adds functionality such as IP address resolution (resolves to domain name, rather than address), extensible search capability, command line execution for sending alerts to a pager or mobile phone (via text messages), multimedia alerts and dynamic pie and bar chart creation for event comparison,
