ARX PrivateServer HSM Receives GSA Approval for FIPS 201 Product

ARX PrivateServer HSM verified as secure and approved under stringent U.S. Federal Security Standard FIPS 201.

San Francisco, California - ARX maintains its product security standards to help protect and defend federal agencies and enterprises, and has now received FIPS 201 approval from the U.S. Government's General Services Administration (GSA) on GSA's Approved Products List for compliance.

FIPS 201 is the Federal Information Processing Standard covering Personal Identity Verification (PIV) for federal employees and contractors. "We are pleased to see our PrivateServer(TM) network-attached HSM validated by the GSA for FIPS 201," said Ezer Farhi, VP Engineering, ARX. "We have a proven security, cryptographic, and key-management track record in production environments dating back over 10 years. GSA certification is one more important endorsement of our product's reliability and security features, which are now validated under both FIPS 201 and FIPS 140-2 level 3."

The ARX PrivateServer HSM is a high-speed, multi-key, network-attached HSM and key management system. It comes with a high-availability load balancing option, and enables you to stay in compliance with several regulations that address information privacy and integrity. The PrivateServer HSM is a solution designed from its inception to be network-attached and to serve multiple users and applications. This is in contrast to most competing HSMs which were originally designed for serial connection and single-application support. With this, the PrivateServer design not only scales better, but also allows you to get the maximum performance and capacity out of the HSM. Further, because of its performance and capacity characteristics, it should be the last investment you will need to make in an HSM.

The FIPS 201 Evaluation Program is required by the Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) for agencies implementing identification card projects. PrivateServer HSM has a number of API plug-n-play interfaces that support ID card systems, including full support for Microsoft's CAPI/CNG, PKCS#11, and JCA standards. With FIPS 201 approval and these standard interfaces, PrivateServer is now even more conveniently available for helping to advance ID card deployments.
