ARRIS Debuts Advanced Video Compression Solutions

Providing the Highest Transcoding Density for Ultra HD and New Content Experiences

SUWANEE, Ga. - ARRIS Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARRS) is introducing additions to its portfolio of advanced compression solutions at IBC 2014 (12-16 September, Amsterdam) and SCTE 2014 (22-25 September, Denver, Colorado, USA).

ARRIS's new uplink/headend encoders/transcoders and downlink decoder/transcoders enable service providers around the world to deliver tomorrow's advanced content experiences from end-to-end--maximizing bandwidth and ensuring the highest-quality video:

    --  DSR-7400 Transcoder Integrated Receiver/Decoder (IRD)

    --  SE-7400 HEVC UHD/4K Encoder

    --  ME-7000 Converged Compression Platform

"Our three new compression solutions draw on a 20-year legacy of industry-leading video encoding and transcoding solutions. And, they join a portfolio of network solutions that is perfectly positioned to transform the entire video delivery chain," said Bruce McClelland, President of Network Cloud and Global Services at ARRIS. "ARRIS is collaborating with services providers around the world to support their unique content delivery needs--empowering networks with efficient compression solutions that can scale to tomorrow's entertainment across the growing range of consumer devices."

About the DSR-7400

Introducing the fifth-generation of ARRIS's Transcoder IRD product family, now with HEVC technology for stunning UHD/4Kp60 resolution. Its unsurpassed density and flexibility delivers value in a variety of operator environments, and it allows programmers to eliminate SD content over satellite.

About the SE-7400

The ARRIS SE-7400 is a high-performance single channel HEVC UHD encoder for live linear encoding up to 4Kp60. It features advanced video compression techniques to deliver live content at very low bit rates. It serves as the encoding component in ARRIS's 4K delivery portfolio--creating an end-to-end 4K platform when paired with the DSR-7400 or UltraHD capable set-tops.

About the ARRIS ME-7000

ARRIS's ME-7000 is a high-performance converged compression platform for multiscreen delivery of IPTV, cable and satellite applications. It offers multi-codec (MPEG-2, AVC, HEVC), multi-format support with SD/HD/UltraHD encoding and transcoding. The ARRIS ME-7000 is fully modular and flexible for easy scalability and upgradeability.

ARRIS will display all three of the new advanced compression solutions, as well as industry-leading multiscreen content delivery solutions, at IBC2014. ARRIS will be in the host venue, the RAI Amsterdam, Hall 1, Stand 1.D31.

The new DSR-7400 and SE-7400 solutions will also be on display at SCTE 2014, Colorado Convention Center, ARRIS Booth 1764.
