ARM SoM Enables Device Control with Remote Desktop

The first ARM9 SoM supports TightVNC and WinCE Remote Display Control

Taipei, Taiwan -- Artila Electronics, the leading designer and manufacturer of ARM9 industrial PC, is proud to announce the support of remote desktop control for Linux and WinCE on its M-9G45A System on Module.

M-9G45A is a credit card size system on module powered by Atmel 400MHz AT91SAM9G45 ARM9 Processor with memory management unit, and equipped with 128MB DDR2 RAM, 128MB NAND Flash, and 2MB DATAFlash.  It is designed not only for devices that require Human Machine Interface (HMI) but also an ideal solution for Machine to Machine (M2M) device management.  M-9G45A features remote desktop control which allows user to access and control the device via a remote site PC desktop.  Even if the device itself does not provide a graphic user interface such as LCD, keyboard and mouse, the remote desktop of M-9G45A enables user to access and control the device by a PC with remote desktop interface.  Currently M-9G45A supports TightVNC on Linux model and Remote Display Control on WinCE.  The M-9G45A also comes with four UART ports, one 10/100Mbps Ethernet, GPIO, SPI, I2C and I2S bus and high speed USB 2.0 port.  Wireless communication is ready to go by using commercial of the shelf USB WiFi and 3G dongle.

M-9G45A is designed with easy to use in mind.  It’s 2.0 mm pin header which is a widely used electronic component and 128 distinct function pins reduce user’s time in hardware design and software porting.  In addition to the tool chain which comes with the Artila CD, many handy utility software and device drivers are also included.
