ARINC Certifies IER 918 Kiosk for Use with SelfServ(TM) CUSS System

Annapolis, Maryland, USA, June 6, 2007-ARINC Incorporated today announced it has certified the compact IER 918 CUSS check-in kiosk for operation with ARINC's enhanced SelfServSM CUSS kiosk platform. Certification followed several weeks of integration and testing of the advanced functionality of the IER 918.

"The IER 918 is the most compact kiosk on the market today, and it dramatically lowers the entry price point for shared kiosk systems at airports," stated Keith Margerison, Senior Director, ARINC Airports Factory Division. "Many small and mid-sized airports will now be able to afford CUSS systems, meaning more convenience for passengers and savings for the airlines as well."

The new IER 918 is a counter-top kiosk that can also be installed on a standalone pedestal or integrated into a counter. Standard features include an advanced touchscreen, 2D barcode boarding-pass printer, and a hybrid reader for magnetic and smart cards. Options include a bag-tag printer, a full-page e-passport reader, and a barcode scanner.

"The IER 918 kiosk delivers a range of cost-effective functions in a future-proof package," continued Margerison. "Matched with ARINC's enhanced SelfServ technology with Java®, it will support thermal receipts, passport readers, 2D barcodes and more. And it will easily accommodate future applications such as biometrics and identity card recognition."

ARINC's SelfServ CUSS solution is the global market leader, with three times the
acceptance of its competitors. ARINC SelfServ deployments currently include more than 1,135 multi-airline CUSS kiosks supporting 29 airlines at 29 airports, and a number of sizable CUSS projects recently undertaken in Asia.

"The certification of the 918 kiosk using ARINC's SelfServ platform enables IER to reaffirm a longstanding working relationship within the industry." stated Jean-Pierre Sany, IER Senior VP, International Sales. "We look forward to opening the small and midsize common use market with our kiosk hardware and ARINC's proven CUSS implementation success."
