Original Press Release:

A Larger 'Storm' for Aqueous Parts Cleaning

SurfTran Manufacturing Co., L.L.C.- Madison Heights, Michigan presents their newest larger capacity STORM aqueous cleaning system. This second generation of aqueous cleaning technology is a more efficient design for improved media flow, a self-cleaning processing chamber, better filtration, and cleaning and drying capabilities.

Compact and modular in design (96"x72`x96") with stainless steel construction including valving and piping, enhances durability and long life. Its larger capacity sealed single processing chamber accepts a stainless steel parts holding basket (12"x14"x24") and has a load capacity of 350 lbs.

Its sealed single processing chamber is where the process comes to the parts not vice versa. The STORM's functions include wash, rinse, heated deionized water rinse, jet spray, immersed turbojet spray, hot air drying with a 750CFM Paxton supercharger which produces 40kW of forced hot air induction, and optional 4,500W push-pull ultrasonics with 50W of action per gallon and vacuum shock drying for spot free parts, even where deep blind holes exist.

A user friendly touch-screen Allen Bradley PLC with multiple program capacity allows for optimum use of its cleaning and drying functions. The large 90 gallon capacity chamber has pump fill and gravity return, and has 2 bag filtration each for wash and rinse cycles. Bag filter micron size can vary per job and can be down to 2 microns.

The STORM system also features optional automation to load and unload the parts basket automatically and with its modular design can be added to for future requirements. SurfTran also manufactures several other types of washing systems, thermal energy method deburring systems and electrolytic deburring/contouring systems for industry.
