APT Power Transducer from NK Technologies Feature New Power Supply Options to Support Wider Range of Applications

Power transducers help users save energy and protect machinery by monitoring power usage

SAN JOSE, CA – NK Technologies' externally powered APT Series Power Transducers are now available with 24VAC/DC, 120VAC or 240VAC power supply options to support a wider range of applications. These transducers produce an industry standard 4-20 mA, 0-5 VDC or 0-10 VDC output that can help users monitor and report power usage, enabling them to take proactive corrective action when power rises to abnormal levels or falls to unexpected levels. The APT power transducer can be configured to accept 5 amp secondary current transformers, or NK Technologies' ProteCT™ low voltage output sensors. Either type of current sensing will produce an accurate output signal to help identify areas of excessive energy consumption and allow intervention to reduce demand.

"There are many applications for the APT Power Transducers including plant energy management, conveyors and pump monitoring," says Philip Gregory, President, NK Technologies. "It's used to measure the power usage of a single piece of equipment, an area of a plant, or the entire facility. It can detect conveyor jams and overloads, and detect if a drive belt breaks."

The APT can also detect dry run from clogged pump intake or discharge lines and monitor impeller cavitation and bearing wear. They are housed in a compact DIN mounted case with a low profile that reduces the need for large cabinet depth requirements. Their finger safe terminals are clearly labeled for quick installation.
