Applied PilotFish Healthcare Integration Helps Morrison Healthcare Increase Productivity and Improve Services to Hospitals, Patients

New healthcare integration engine solution provides faster, easier systems integration

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Applied PilotFish Healthcare Integration, Inc., or PilotFish Healthcare, the healthcare subsidiary of PilotFish Technology, a leading provider of middleware solutions, today announced that its new healthcare integration engine has been selected by Morrison Healthcare to provide an easier, standardized approach to building and maintaining interfaces. In turn, this will support the company's primary goal of delivering superior service to its clients at a competitive price. Morrison is the nation's leading contract food and nutrition service (FNS) serving more than 600 hospitals and integrated healthcare systems throughout the United States.

"PilotFish Healthcare met all the criteria we had established for selecting an integration engine solution. However, what really impressed us was the ease-of-use of their solution," said Ron Gastin, vice president/ Technology at Morrison Healthcare.  "The PilotFish eiConsole for Healthcare IDE uses a graphical Assembly Line approach to configuring complex interfaces that is simple, intuitive and fast.  This frees us from our dependency on outside consultants to build and maintain our interfaces.  The solution is a win-win for Morrison, our customers and their patients. Having a faster and easier way to integrate our systems with those of our hospital customers will enable us to lower our IT costs while providing an even higher level of service to the hospitals and the patients they serve."

The PilotFish Healthcare Integration Engine solution gives Morrison Healthcare a broad range of message and communication/connection formats, along with the ability to easily extend them through an open Application Program Interface (API).  This helps the company meet certain technical requirements. It also offers:

-  Guaranteed message delivery to help ensure all dietary orders are met;

-  The ability to develop advanced, reliable transformations and business rules to save time and money on implementations;

-  A short learning curve and ease-of-use to quickly train developers and business analysts to get up to speed and be productive.

"We are extremely pleased that Morrison Healthcare has selected PilotFish Healthcare to meet its integration requirements," stated PilotFish Healthcare CEO, Neil Schappert. "Morrison Healthcare did a very thorough analysis of the alternatives available, including side-by-side comparisons, and chose PilotFish Healthcare.  Clearly, there are some integration challenges that the old guard integration engines have not been able to meet."
