IBM WebSphere Application Server for z/OS, V5 Certified as Java 2 Enterprise Edition V1.3-Compatible



Overview
WebSphere® Application Server (WAS) for z/OS®, V5 is certified as Java(TM) 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) V1.3-compatible and is available. The J2EE compatibility is provided to current WAS V5 customers via Program Temporary Fix (PTF) #UQ78241, available today. For customers new to WAS V5, this PTF is included in updated Customized Offerings (CBPDO, ServerPac, Systempac®), which become generally available July 25, 2003. This support is specifically designed to utilize the unique qualities of service provided by IBM eserver zSeries® hardware and z/OS operating system. It allows for deployment of J2EE-based applications to the mainframe and is designed to provide application programming model consistency with WAS Network Deployment.
