A10 Networks Increases Data Center Efficiency with Mid-Range AX 3200-12 and AX 3400 Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs)

New Models Bolster Security with Dedicated Hardware for Denial of Service (DoS) Protection

SAN JOSE, Calif., -- A10 Networks(TM), the technology leader in Application Networking, today unveiled two new 64-bit models in its AX Series ADC family, the AX 3200-12 and AX 3400. The new models provide significant performance and cost advantages to enterprise organizations and service providers. In addition, AX 3200-12 and AX 3400 are compact and energy efficient 1 Rack Unit (RU) appliances with dedicated Flexible Traffic ASICs (FTAs) for Distributed DoS (DDoS) attack prevention, to enhance data center security.

"IT trends such as cloud computing, multi-layer security and high compute per rack unit are essential to ensure applications can keep pace with rapidly expanding user demand," said Joe Skorupa, Research VP for Data Center Convergence at Gartner. "Application networking vendors are enabling these trends with scalable, compact application delivery controllers that help customers create scalable, high performance application deployments."

The New AX Series hardware appliances include:
 -- AX 3200-12 - High-performance, 64-bit AX model suited for medium to
large enterprises and service providers.
-- Expanding on the successful 32-bit AX 3200, the new AX 3200-12
offers significant performance and scalability advantages at half
the size. The AX 3200-12 increases performance by over 100% versus
the AX 3200, and delivers 1.1 million Layer 4 connections per second
(L4 CPS), 18 gigabits per second (Gbps) throughput and 12,000 SSL
CPS. In addition, the AX 3200-12 is a 64-bit model with 3 times the
memory of the AX 3200
-- Maximum power consumption is only 313 watts to deliver 3514 L4 CPS
performance per watt (PPW)
-- Includes four 10 Gb fiber ports (SFP+), four 1 Gb fiber ports (SFP),
twenty 1 Gb copper ports, redundant power supplies (RPS), 12 GB of
error correction code (ECC) memory, solid-state drive (SSD), hot
swappable smart fans, L2/3 networking ASIC, FTA and SSL ASIC
-- Expansion card for additional SSL or compression performance is
available
-- AX 3400 - Premium, 64-bit AX model suited for large enterprises and
service providers.
-- Delivers 2 million L4 CPS, 38 Gbps throughput and 12,000 SSL CPS
-- Maximum power consumption is only 338 watts to achieve a best in
class 5917 L4 CPS PPW
-- Includes four 10 Gb fiber ports (SFP+), four 1 Gb fiber ports (SFP),
twenty 1 Gb copper ports, RPS, 24 GB of ECC memory, SSD, hot
swappable smart fans, L2/3 networking ASIC, two FTAs and SSL ASIC
-- Expansion card for additional SSL or compression performance is
available
"The AX 3200-12 and AX 3400's highly efficient and compact design ups the ante with industry leading performance at an attractive price point. For example, one recent enterprise consolidation project involved new AX 3200-12s replacing incumbent ADCs at a ratio of 4-to-1," said Lee Chen, Founder and CEO for A10 Networks. "AX Series customers will be able to take advantage of A10's Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) and FTA technologies to deliver content and services predictably and more securely over the Internet."

AX Series

AX Series delivers industry leading price/performance by leveraging A10's revolutionary 64-bit Advanced Core OS (ACOS). AX Series appliances offer superior reliability, high performance and an energy efficient footprint for lower total cost of ownership (TCO). The AX Series has a comprehensive Layer 4-7 feature set and flexible virtualization technologies such as Virtual Chassis System (aVCS), multi-tenancy and more. In addition, the AX Series leads in IPv6 Migration technologies (Large Scale NAT, DS-Lite, NAT64/DNS64 and more) with many large scale deployments worldwide.
