Apcon Announces Web-Based GUI to Facilitate Physical Layer Matrix Switch Applications

Apcon IntellaPatch Leads Industry in Efficient, Easy Operation With WebX Graphical User Interface

PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 14 /-- Apcon, Inc. ( www.apcon.com/ ), a leading worldwide manufacturer of physical layer matrix switch hardware and application software, today introduced WebX, an all-purpose, embedded Web browser interface for use in the company's IntellaPatch physical layer switches.

WebX is a Web-based graphical user interface (GUI) for use in Apcon IntellaPatch physical layer matrix switches that allows users to manage electronic connections quickly and easily. WebX provides an intuitive environment that leads the physical layer switch industry.

WebX provides an intuitive, Web-based environment in which IntellaPatch users can manage physical layer network connections, providing a quick and easy way to implement electronic switching with the IntellaPatch switch. The product is an embedded interface, so no software installation is required.

The product facilitates switch setup and configuration from either desktop or remote locations. It enables users to view current connections and to reconfigure new connections via drag and drop, drop down menus, equipment name, and batch patching.

"Apcon is intent on providing the industry's best combination of physical layer switching software and hardware, and WebX clearly demonstrates our leadership," said Richard Rauch, president and CEO of Apcon. "WebX combines efficiency and easy operation with robust hardware that no other vendor has been able to match."

WebX is operating system independent and is compatible with all commonly used Web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Netscape, and Mozilla FireFox. The product operates with recently released high-density port versions of Apcon IntellaPatch physical layer switches, including the IntellaPatch 64, 144, and 288 port switches. WebX is included standard with each of these switches.
