APC Wins Best Data Center Innovation Award for Second Consecutive Year at Recent BladeSystems Insight Event

APC's Innovative InfraStruXure® Data Center Architecture, including InRow® Cooling, Management Software and Modular Power Solutions,

WEST KINGSTON, R.I. - June 2, 2008 - APC, a global leader in critical power and cooling services, today announced that it received the "Best Data Center Innovation" award for its data center solutions at the recent BladeSystems Insight Driving ROI Across the Data Center event in Tucson, Ariz., May 12-14, 2008. The event attracted more than 400 participants including CIOs, IT directors and senior-level IT executives. At the conclusion of the event, the attendees ranked APC as the most innovative data center vendor ahead of other nominees.

BladeSystems Insight focused on the ROI, total cost of ownership and bottom-line benefits of blade-based systems for today's data center at its second national, invitational summit on blade server technology adoption, virtualization and the data center market.

Throughout the three-day conference, attendees learned about APC's innovative data center strategy and its InfraStruXure® solutions by attending the company's Industry Insight Premier presentation on 'Maximizing Your Virtualization Payoff: There's More Than You Think.' Attendees also learned more about APC by attending a case study presentation on InfraStruXure customer's Bryant University and Sun Microsystems, as well as by visiting APC's exhibit booth. During a visit to APC's booth, attendees witnessed first-hand InfraStruXure's open, building-block approach that utilizes standardized, modular components to fully integrate power, cooling, management software and environmental management within a rack-optimized design. InfraStruXure's cooling solutions such as the InRow® SC, RC and RP, help support right-sized high density blade deployments. These row-based cooling solutions feature on-demand airflow and cooling that minimize the need for overcapacity and provide the required cooling capacity on-demand. APC's InfraStruXure architecture works as a pre-integrated solution to address the cooling and power challenges associated with high density blade environments.

"To capture this prestigious award two years in a row is a significant achievement, and it tells us that our customers appreciate and value our innovative data center solutions for blade deployments," said John DiPippo, APC's senior vice president of Data Center Solutions, Service and Software. "For close to ten years, APC has invested heavily in research and development to master power and cooling challenges in today's data centers resulting from use of powerful blade server technology. Due to APC's ongoing research and development efforts in this area, customers can access the most innovative suite of physical infrastructure products available on the market today such as APC's InRow cooling solutions, racks, management software capabilities and highly-efficient, scalable power supplies."

According to Philip McKay, president and CEO of event sponsor PPM Media, "This year's BladeSystems Insight featured more than 30 leading vendor sponsors and hundreds of the latest software, hardware and service solutions for today's data center. The 'Best Data Center Innovation' Award as voted upon by our audience of end-user IT executives is one of the summit's most significant honors. It provides further recognition of APC's industry leadership and new generation of products for the data center environment."
