AnywhereCommerce Sees High Demand for Microsoft mPOS Solution

Strong Interest at the Recent NRF "Big Show" Indicates that Retailers Are Poised To Implement Advanced Platform

Montreal – AnywhereCommerce, a global payments technology provider, said that its recent experience at the National Retail Federation (NRF) Big Show demonstrates that the Microsoft mobile point-of-sale solution (mPOS) has the potential to gain significant traction in the retail sector. AnywhereCommerce had a significant presence at the Microsoft booth during the event, with a number of its mobile payment acceptance solutions on display. AnywhereCommerce is a recognized participant in Microsoft's Designed for Surface third-party developer program.

"It was evident throughout the NRF show that the Surface tablet can bring enormous productivity and efficiency gains to just about any size or type of retailer," said Mitchell Cobrin, AnywhereCommerce chief executive officer. "The  platform dovetails perfectly with the range of Microsoft solutions that squarely address the needs of specific businesses, such as the Delta Airlines in-flight payment solution that leverages Windows Mobile with hardware elements from AnywhereCommerce and Nokia. Of course, we are absolutely delighted to have such a broad and dynamic relationship with Microsoft, and we look forward to supporting its efforts as it looks to expand its presence in the retail marketplace."

AnywhereCommerce's recently-debuted Rambler 3.0 magnetic stripe card acceptance device was also highlighted at NRF, as were its various EMV products, including the Chip-and-PIN capable Nomad 2.0, and its Chip-and-Signature Walker device that is used in Europe, Latin America, and other world markets.

Through the Designed for Surface Program, AnywhereCommerce will continue to offer a broad array of its mobile commerce technology to Microsoft, including its global suite of hardware, software and gateway solutions for secure online and mobile card-present credit, debit, Chip (PIN and signature), and NFC transactions, as well as its "aCommerce" platform to facilitate payment transactions. AnywhereCommerce technology's PCI- and EMVCo-certified solutions provide optimal security, reliability, convenience and return on investment for merchants, networks, issuers, processors and acquirers.

"The response from retailers and booth visitors was exciting to see," said Cyril Belikoff, Director, Microsoft Surface. "Surface tablets as well as Windows Mobile handsets are well suited to meet the rapidly evolving needs of retailers and merchants. Partnering with companies like AnywhereCommerce, that have the flexibility and innovative spirit to meet the increasingly sophisticated requirements of the market, will help us deliver high-value, reliable and secure mobile point-of-sale technology to our customers."
