New Harsh Environment Anti-Vibration Cylindrical Connector from Amphenol Industrial Operations Prevents Decoupling
Sidney, NY, July 2005 -- Amphenol Industrial Operations, a manufacturer of high reliability connectors and interconnection systems for the industrial markets, has introduced a new metal cylindrical connector for harsh environments that prevents decoupling. The Amphe-ARC (Anti-Vibration Ratcheted Coupling) connector is ideal for rail/mass transit, heavy equipment and process control applications.
The rugged Amphe-ARC provides an in-line or cable-to-box, water-resistant, multiple conductor electrical connection. The ratchet coupling nut built into the new conductor eliminates unwanted decoupling of the coupling ring during periods of high vibration. Multiple key/keyways allow for easier connector alignment and eliminate mismating.
A double stub Acme thread allows for effortless mating of contact arrangements that are normally difficult to mate. It also provides for easy cleaning and reduces cross threading and multiple turns of a finely threaded connector.
The Amphe-ARC is specifically designed for large quantities of size 12 and size 16 contacts and is available in a large number of contact insert arrangements.
Volume pricing for Amphe-ARC ranges from $150 to $200 for a mated pair. Delivery is eight to ten weeks ARO.
