Gunze USA Introduces 4AR Touch Panels

Gunze's Newest Line of Anti-Reflective Touch Panels Offer Improved Transmissivity

Austin, Texas, January 16, 2006 - Gunze USA, leader in resistive touch panel manufacturing, today announced general availability of its latest line of 4 layer Anti-Reflective (AR) touch panels, which offer lower reflection without affecting the contrast of the screen. Gunze's newest line 4AR touch panels offer an 88% transmissivity rate, and are specifically designed for outdoor applications, including any application in which the panel would be exposed to direct sunlight, such as car navigation systems/GPS, consumer electronics and industrial equipment utilized outdoors.

"Gunze's state-of-the-art R&D department continues to lead the market with touch panels that meet the growing demand for durability, longevity and anti-reflection," said John Stetson, Gunze USA. "Gunze's anti-reflective technology now makes it possible to manufacture touch panels with low reflection that are also highly durable and can utilize both pen and finger input."

As touch panels are designed into more challenging settings, the durability and transmissivity of Gunze's new 4 layer AR film allows product engineers and designers to deploy touch screens in a wider range of applications, enabling more industries to be able to take advantage of the benefits of touch screens. 3-and 4AR films prevent light reflection and improve transparency rate, and meet market demand for enhanced readability and transmissivity for applications in direct sunlight and high-reflection environments. Gunze's 4AR touch panels can be found in products used under the condition of being directly exposed to sun light.

Gunze's technical expertise and specialized manufacturing processes allow for the sputtering of ITO on various layers in the optical stack-up. The panels are coated with anti-reflection materials and have been designed for both pen and finger input. They can be ordered in a range of standard or custom sizes and come with a one year/one million input guarantee.
