Anritsu's Next-Generation Transport Tester Selected for Demonstrations of 100G Optical Network Test at OFC 2015

Anritsu MT1100A Network Master™ Flex to be Used to Highlight Performance of New Next-generation 100G Optical Module

RICHARDSON, Texas — Anritsu Company's (OFC booth #1309) next-generation MT1100A Network Master™ Flex transport tester will be used for live technology demonstrations of 100G optical network testing throughout OFC 2015, to be held March 24-26 in Los Angeles. The tester will be on display at Oclaro's booth (#2011) as part of an interoperability demonstration of Oclaro's new second generation CFP2 and CFP4 LR4 100G optical transceivers.

The MT1100A was selected for the demonstration because the transport tester can efficiently and easily generate and analyze 100 Gbps signals. The signal analysis function of the MT1100A will be used to demonstrate the high-quality 100G signal transmission of next-generation 100G optical transceivers.

"Selection for Oclaro's demonstration shows how Anritsu is successfully developing products to meet the needs of today's core and metro communications networks that are implementing 100 GigE and OTN technologies to provide sufficient bandwidth supporting the explosive increase in mobile communications data. Anritsu solutions such as the MT1100A have been developed to provide the flexibility, accuracy and measurement capability to help engineers verify designs and ensure the operation of Next Generation Networks," said Peter A. Alexander, PhD, Vice President and General Manager of Anritsu Company.

The four-port all-in-one MT1100A has the functions required for developing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining networks at bit rates from 1.5 Mbps to 100 Gbps. With four 100 Gbps ports, it supports RD of the latest OTN 400 Gbps technologies using client signals, including Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SDH/SONET and PDH/DSn, now in development. Compact in design, the MT1100A allows for automatic testing using SCPI commands to maximize equipment investment through higher test efficiency and lower cost per port.

"Oclaro's second generation CFP2 and CFP4 LR4 100G optical transceivers are enabled by our InP laser and photo-detector technologies and enable customers to design high density linecards with low power dissipation," said Yoshikazu Era, General Manager, Oclaro Japan Module Division. "Anritsu's network test equipment enables us to accurately characterize our leading-edge components and modules for 100G and beyond so that we can continue to deliver small and power-efficient transceivers with industry-leading performance to our customers."
